Two suns shining from both sides?
Today while walking in Walmart I saw a movie poster. Within a minute of glancing at the design I cringed at one major design error. First thing that came to my mind was how on earth is this poster even published?!?!……I’m in no means saying I am perfect at designing, but when creating designs for a well name franchise you expect perfection? or at least close to it…..here are my thoughts.
Anyone using Photoshop knows about various layer style tools that are available, one of which is inner glow. The character edited from the movie 300 looks as if an inner glow was applied. After inspecting the actual photo from the movie I figured out it was actually the background from the movie.

Now that I knew it wasn’t a layer style error, I wondered why the editor/designer wouldn’t use other design techniques to fix the character when adding him to the poster. If he or she was unable to do that, why wouldn’t they use another clip or reference photo from the movie?
I wanted to try and apply other design techniques to see if this error could have been prevented. So I tried to fix this error myself, this is my final product. I gave myself a time limit of 5 minutes.
(My digital edit of the poster)
As you can see my edit of the movie poster isn’t perfect but I believe it looks much better then the original does and it was completed in 5 minutes. I believe this flaw could have been easily fixed.
